Collins 8 Foundation Partners with Lone Star College

Building Futures Through Trades

In honor of Mark Collins’ passion for hard work, service, and faith, the Collins 8 Foundation has launched the Mark Collins Field of Dreams Scholarship—a new opportunity supporting skilled trades students at Lone Star College–Tomball.

The scholarship was created to reflect Mark’s values: dedication to family, commitment to community, and belief in the power of practical education. With a heart for licensed trades and a desire to open doors for future generations, Mark’s legacy lives on by helping students pursue life-changing career paths.

“The skilled trades are the backbone of our society,” said Tara Mora with the Collins 8 Foundation. “We are honored to offer this scholarship in Mark’s name, ensuring his legacy will continue to uplift those seeking practical and sustainable careers.”

Thanks to this partnership with the Lone Star College Foundation, students pursuing certifications in trades like HVAC, electrical work, construction, and more will have access to vital financial support. Priority will be given to students who’ve experienced personal hardship or who attended Tomball High School or Tomball Memorial High School.

Chris Collins shared, “I love that there’s a scholarship honoring my father’s legacy. He believed in the value of hard work and the doors that skilled trades can open. He knew success didn’t always come from a four-year degree—but from purpose and perseverance.”

Through this scholarship, Mark’s belief in building with heart and working with purpose continues to shape futures—one trade, one student, one life at a time.
